Found Kapok Tree Inn Glass Catchall Dish

The Kapok Tree Inn opened in Clearwater, FL in 1958 as a 200 seat restaurant. Owner-operator Richard Baumgardner personally greets his arriving guests. Relying only on word-of-mouth advertising, the restaurant becomes a sensation. Dining rooms are added to increase seating, and shrimp is soon added to the menu. By the mid-1960’s, the New York Times and Holiday magazine name Baumgardner one of the world’s top ten restaurant operators. After years of rave reviews and satisfied customers, the Clearwater Kapok Tree Inn closed its doors on May 14, 1991.  An era came to an end and the public was left untold of what went wrong.  Bring this glass catchall into your home to keep the memory of the fabulous Kapok Tree Inn alive! This piece will add character and a story to your desktop, tabletop or coffee table.
